After First Unlock (AFU)
AFU is a mobile device state occurring after a phone is powered on and unlocked at least once. In AFU, encryption keys are loaded into RAM, making user data (emails, messages, app data) more accessible to forensic tools than in the “Before First Unlock” (BFU) state.
