"Ride the Tiger" refers to a story of a man facing a raging tiger. He clings to its back while it rampages, killing many but not him, until it faints from exhaustion and he kills it. A similar Ancient Greek story refers to a man with a wild bull. The phrase was popularized by Julius Evola, a reactionary author from the early 20th century.
