Harald Hárfagri (Fine Hair) was son of Halfdan Svarti (the black) in 850CE.

During his teens, his father halfdan died by falling through the ice on a lake. After this the kingdom fell under his rule.

Just a couple months into his rule he was attacked by two rival kings in 860CE. They were defeated at the battle of Hakadal with the help of Haraldr’s uncle.
