We want to keep our þrælar very fit, for obvious reasons. Some do not perform fitness exercises ideally outdoors using what nature provides. Transporting dumbbells to remote bases, inherently by air or sometimes ship, is also very expensive. Which brought the question of asymmetrical weight training, that is, using only one dumbbell instead of two.
During COVID, America and Commonwealth countries told the world it was perfectly fine to experiment on people, so, empowered with this new trend pissing on the Nuremberg Code, we decided to go full Nazi and experiment asymmetrical training on our English speaking þrælar.
We not only got them to train with only one dumbbell, but we also made the reps and weights completely random every time, without following any logic. The goal was to prevent the body from getting used to a particular routine (which leads to reaching a plateau) as well as to be as close as possible to fitness from natural hard work versus weight training.
We are happy to report excellent results. The group engaging in asymmetrical and random weight training had a significant increase in muscle mass and abdominal definition, versus the group engaged in asymmetrical training without randomization, and versus the group engaged in symmetrical weight training.
